The Spirit of Caring
Caring for our Community
At Equitable Life & Casualty, we understand that no company operates without drawing from the resources available in the community around it. Since 1935, Equitable has been well served by our local community. We have drawn on our community resources in every respect. We benefit from a well-educated, highly motivated local work force from which our employees are hired. We take pride in the spirit of "giving back" to our community, and our corporate citizenship is a model for others to emulate.
Equitable Life & Casualty Insurance Company is the title sponsor of Profiles In Caring, the incredibly moving weekly television program devoted to volunteerism. The stories that are told each week of selfless individuals and wonderful organizations are truly heart-warming and inspirational.
Together, Equitable and Profiles In Caring have created the Ambassadors Of Caring® Award to acknowledge the extraordinary work being done everyday by non-profit organizations throughout the world. Click here to view past award recipients.
At Equitable, we realize that it is our responsibility to do our part to replenish community resources wherever needed and whenever possible. With that in mind, we have developed a program of community awareness and responsibility that starts at the top of our organization and is participated in by the entire company.
One of the programs of which Equitable is most proud is our "Jeans for a Cause" Day. Every other Friday, employees are allowed to wear blue jeans to work for a donation. The company matches the Employee Contribution, and a Charity Committee chooses various charities and causes in the area to receive these donations. This program keeps both employees and management aware of needs in the community, and gives them an opportunity to become more involved.
Some of the causes that have been a focus of "Jeans for a Cause" in recent years are:
With each donation, our awareness of our community's needs and our part in resolving some of those needs grows. Equitable employees and management take great pride in doing our part to help the community that has been so good to us throughout our corporate history.
In our community we are proud to do our part... because We Care!
